A catapult is a type of machine used as a weapon to throw rocks or other things such as hot tar, that would cause damage to something else. Often, catapults were set on higher ground or on castle towers to let them shoot farther. They shot rocks to break castle walls, or pitch or hot tar to set the target on fire.
Things Required :
✔️ 7 craft sticks
✔️3 rubber bands
✔️a milk cap
✔️cotton balls {or other objects to launch}
BUILD A CATAPULT*
👉🏻Stack 5 craft sticks together, and rubber band the ends.
👉🏻Stack 2 craft sticks together, and wrap a rubber band around the very end.
👉🏻Separate the 2 craft sticks. Place the stack of 5 craft sticks between the 2 craft sticks.
👉🏻Wrap a rubber band around all of the craft sticks to hold the catapult together.
👉🏻Glue a milk cap {or something similar} on to serve as a launching platform.
👉🏻Push down on the top craft stick and release to launch an object from the milk cap.
The potential energy is converted to kinetic energy during the fall. On the other hand, a ball resting on the level ground has no gravitational potential energy; it has no potential for movement unless acted on by an outside force (other than gravity). Potential energy can come from gravity, but also from elasticity, such as a rubber band. When a rubber band is stretched, its potential energy increases; when it is released, it snaps back (kinetic energy), and its potential energy returns to zero.
